REST API · Polish grocery chain
Polish grocery chain → fruit and vegetable growers in Spain: what one real Prosp run returned
- Run date
- Job duration
- 11 s
- Results came from
- Prosp knowledge base
- Delivered
- 8 of 8 requested
- Rejected candidates
- 5
- Discarded after target
- 68
TL;DR
- Delivered 8 of 8 in 11 s. That is not search speed: all 8 came from Prosp's knowledge base of companies found and checked by earlier runs. Fresh runs in this series took 9.5 to 14 minutes.
- Registry-verified: 0 of 8. One row (fincalagracia.es) carries a Spanish tax id that matches the company's own legal notice, but there is no free official lookup to confirm it against.
- Went wrong: two of the eight are a loose fit for a fresh-produce buyer, and one row has location fields that contradict each other.
- 68 live-search candidates were still in flight when the target was reached and were discarded without being evaluated.
The scenario
A Polish grocery chain wants to buy fresh produce closer to the source: growers and exporters of fruit and vegetables in Spain that already supply European retail. The buyer is a profile we set up to test this market, not a customer. The run is real, and every company on this page came back from it.
- Buyer
- A grocery retailer in Poland sourcing fresh fruit and vegetables directly from producers. An illustrative profile, not a named customer.
- Target
- Fruit and vegetable growers and fresh-produce exporters in Spain, small to large.

How this run was actually started: through Prosp's internal job endpoint, with exactly these criteria and a target of 8 companies, under an internal exploration account whose results never reach a CRM. That path does not charge credits. Through the public API the same body is sent as POST /api/v1/discoveries, which debits 100 credits; you then poll GET /api/v1/discoveries/{jobId} and read GET /api/v1/discoveries/{jobId}/prospects.

Checking the registry ids
| domain | register | id delivered | result | what we compared |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| fincalagracia.es | Company's own legal notice | B87661179 | self-disclosed | The legal notice gives tax id B-87661179 for Frutos del pais SL, registered office Madrid, and the CIF control digit is valid. Not confirmed in an official register: Spain has no free public CIF lookup. |

Not counted above: 68 more candidates were still being
processed when the target was reached. They were discarded without being evaluated
(terminal_job_discarded), so they say nothing about quality either way.
What went wrong
- This was not a fresh search. All 8 companies came from Prosp's knowledge base, which is why the job took 11 seconds. Do not read that number as search speed.
- Only 1 of 8 rows carries a registry id, and it is a tax id the company publishes itself. On the other 7 the register lookup found nothing or was not attempted.
- Finca la Gracia's location fields disagree: the city is Linares and the stored region is Euskal Herria (Basque Country), while its legal notice gives a registered office in Madrid.
- Fit: Capricho Andaluz makes olive oils, vinegars and condiments for food service, and Finca la Gracia sells walnuts, olive oil, dried figs and wine. Neither is the fresh fruit and vegetable grower the request described. Naranjas Lola sells its oranges directly to households.
- 2 of 8 rows have no company size (FRUTOMAS EXPORT, Finca la Gracia).
How to read this run
All eight companies came from Prosp's knowledge base: companies that earlier runs had already found, crawled and checked. When a request matches enough of them, Prosp delivers those first and the job ends as soon as the target is reached. That is why this job finished in 11 seconds while the live search it started in parallel was still running; the 68 candidates that search had in flight were discarded without being evaluated. Only 5 candidates were actually rejected.
The strongest matches for a grocery buyer are the growers and exporters: Surinver (a cooperative producing and distributing fresh produce, 119 employees), Grupo La Caña (fresh fruit and vegetables, the one large company here), FRUTOMAS EXPORT, EcoCitrus and Frutas Plasencia. The other three are discussed under "What went wrong".
What this market can and can't verify
- Registers: no free official lookup. Spain's company identifier, the CIF, has a check character, so its format can be validated, but there is no free public register endpoint to look one up. A register mirror we tried on 2026-10-03 answered with a bot challenge.
- Legal notices: yes. Spanish websites usually publish their CIF in a legal notice. For fincalagracia.es, checking that took about 20 seconds; the notice gives B-87661179 for Frutos del pais SL, the same id Prosp delivered.
- So in Spain a delivered id can be confirmed against what the company says about itself, not against an official register. 7 of these 8 rows carry no id at all.
Cost and time
- The job took 11 s because it was served from the knowledge base. Fresh runs in the same series took between 9 min 31 s and 14 min 13 s. At submission the API estimated a median of 560 s.
- A discovery costs 100 credits through the REST API, the MCP server or the Telegram bot. This run was started on an internal account and was not charged.
How to reproduce this run
- REST API: get a token, then send the body above to
POST /api/v1/discoverieswith anX-Idempotency-Keyheader. See the API reference. - ChatGPT or Claude: connect the MCP server and call
find_prospectswith the same criteria. - Telegram: run
/findin the bot. See the Telegram guide.
Your run may be served from the knowledge base too, or may need a fresh search if the knowledge base holds fewer matches by the time you run it.
